Duties and Responsibilities
Welcome to the Wilson County GIS / Mapping Office, a division of Wilson County Technology Services. Our mapping division was first established in 1980. We use a complex and intelligent mapping system called a Geographic Information System, or GIS.
A GIS organizes maps in sections called layers. Each layer contains information about something specific such as utility lines, streets, parcels, topography, etc. Layers can be added together to create a map document that contains valuable information.
All of these layers together assist the county in making better decisions, maintaining important data and providing easy access to information.
This information is available to the public by visiting the Wilson County GIS Web Map or visiting the GIS Office.
