Coronavirus Latest Updates/Facts
Governor Roy Cooper has issued a stay at home order. Wilson County Government continues to urge people to stay home if they can. The Governor has provided guidance in his order that has allowances for those businesses that can be operational while maintaining social distancing. The order recognizes the need to go out to work and to get food, medicine, or to help others.
The order including allowances and details are below.
The Wilson County Health Department continues to work with the NC Department of Health and Human Services and community partners to respond to Coronavirus (COVID-19) infections. County departments and emergency preparedness staff are actively participating in conference calls to stay current and respond as the virus spreads. Read the latest updates from NCDHHS.

- Many providers other than the Wilson County Health Department, are now testing for the COVID-19 virus. Please know the health department will not have knowledge of those tests. We only receive notification of positive results. Negative results are sent to the provider that submitted the test. We will continue to share any virus results that return positive while protecting the privacy of an individual. We remind citizens to: stay home if you are sick, wash hands frequently, avoid crowds, distance yourself from others and clean surfaces frequently.
