Commissioners approve 2019-2020 budget
Tuesday, June 4, 2019, Wilson County Commissioners unanimously passed the 2019-2020 budget with no tax increase. This is the 12th year that Wilson County has not had a tax increase.
County Manager Denise Stinagle explained to commissioners that the fiscally sound budget meets citizens' needs and helps the county to continue its positive work, “Wilson County Government and this board share a passion for people, and we are known for our partnerships that continue to make a powerful and meaningful impact in the lives of our citizens,” she said..
Commissioners also amended the 2018-19 budget to use $370,000 in fund balance to increase the capital reserve funds for the new animal shelter to $700,000. County Manager Denise Stinagle has placed an additional $100,000 in the 2019-2020 budget that was passed. This will bring the capital reserve account for the new animal shelter to $800,000.
