The Register of Deeds office is a county governmental agency where all transactions such as deeds, deeds of trust, mortgages, contracts, agreements, right-of-ways, maps, assumed names, partnerships, power of attorneys and some corporate charters are recorded for safe keeping to be used by the general public. You will also find financing statements and security agreements filed on personal property under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). Also located in this office are all vital records such as births, marriages, deaths and servicemen's discharges.
