An index is the system by which documents can be located after recording. The Register of Deeds office has several "time-framed" indexes available Grantors by the seller's or mortgagor's name, Grantee by the buyer's or mortgagee's name, plats by the individual of subdivision name, corporations by name, power of attorney by name and UCC by name of debtor and file number.
