The budget is prepared by the Finance Department under the direction of the County Manager, and is approved by the Wilson County Board of Commissioners.

For fiscal year 2010-2011, the budget totals $87,050,770. This budget includes revenue and expenditures for all County departments. It also includes appropriation for the Wilson County Schools, Wilson Community College, and area projects funded by the County. Also included in the budget ordinance is the adopted tax rate for each district.
