Wilson County is located approximately 35 minutes east of the state's capital of Raleigh, North Carolina. The County of Wilson has a population of slightly over 81,000 residents and its total area covers some 373 miles. Our economic base is primarily agriculture and secondarily manufacturing.
The County seat is the City of Wilson, which has a population of about 50,000 residents and covers an area of 14.2 square miles. Wilson County has an automatic Real Estate Listing System with approximately 40,000 parcels. New housing starts around $150,000.
Wilson County Tax Department is also the collection agency for 9 municipalities located within the County, two Solid Waste taxes and 16 Fire Districts.
