Items banned from the Wilson County Landfill

EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2009

State law prohibits the disposal of plastic containers and oil filters in your trash. 
All plastic containers and oil filters are to be recycled.

Plastic containers can be disposed of at each of the county's convenience centers and at the landfill.

Oil filters can be disposed of at the landfill convenience center.

ELECTRONICS BAN - EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2011

State law prohibits the disposal of electronics in your trash. Electronics are to be recycled and are accepted with the exception of hazardous, radioactive and bio-hazardous waste at each of the county's convenience centers and at the landfill. There is no charge for disposal of electronics. 

The following items will be accepted:

Computers
Microwaves
TVs
