Wilson County is located approx. 35 minutes east of the state's capital of Raleigh, North Carolina. The County of Wilson has a population of approximately 80,000 residents and its total area covers some 373 miles. Our economic base is primarily agriculture and secondarily manufacturing.

The County seat is the City of Wilson, which has a population of about 50,000 residents and covers an area of 14.2 square miles. Wilson County has an automatic Real Estate Listing System with over 37,800 parcels. The County covers an estimated 1,577 farms totaling some 214,551 acres, 102,721 of which is crop land. New housing starts around $148,000 with about 250 home sales a year.

Wilson County Tax Department is also the collection agency for 9 municipalities located within the County, two Solid Waste taxes and 16 Fire Districts.
