June Happenings
Dine Out
For June, the Dine Out Club will travel to Rocky Mount to the Oak Level Cafe for lunch as a group.  We will leave the center on Tuesday, June 25th for lunch (on your own).  We will return to the center following lunch.  Be sure to sign up on the sheet on the board so that we can make reservations.

Produce Day
Friday, June 21st will be produce bag distribution at the center.  Those who are signed up, may pick up your bag beginning at 12:45 pm.  You must sign up in the office beginning on Monday, June 3, 2013.  You can only sign up for yourself.  Any bags left at 2:00 pm will be distributed to area shut-ins.  Please be sure that you scan in at the front computer and check the produce icon on the 21st.

Yoga Schedule
Carol Murray's class will now be having a six week session instead of an eight week session.  The dates for the current session are June 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and July 1st.  The cost for the entire session is $18.00 ($3.00 per class) or if you prefer to pay class by class the fee is $5.00 per class.

Computer Helpers
There will not be any Computer Helpers sessions during the summer, so that our young people can have a relaxing vacation.  Sessions will begin again in the fall.  Keep your eyes on the newsletter for more information and be sure to check out this free and very informative class.

Computer Classes
Computer Helpers are on vacation, but Wilson Community College is ready to start offering classes here beginning in June.  Because our list is so outdated, please let the office know if you are interested in taking a computer class during the summer.  Remember that those 65 and older do not pay tuition for these classes.

Father's Day Social
On Thursday, June 13th, we will honor our Dad's with a social beginning at 1:00 pm in the pool room.  All are welcome to celebrate with snacks and drinks and a special treat for our fathers.

Creative Writing
Do you have life stories that you would like to preserve for future generations?  Or maybe there has been a story in your head for some time.  If so, this a great new addition to the center schedule.  Carolyn Zolas, who is a local writer and poet, will teach "Creative Writing" beginning on Tuesday, June 4th and every Tuesday at 10:00 am in the Computer Lab.  This is free and open to anyone who is interested.  Come on out and see if there is a writer inside of you.  No experience necessary.
