Today, almost 60% of the nation's automotive oil is changed by consumers themselves. You can recycle your used oil from cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, and lawnmowers.
Recycling your used oil is not as hard as some may think, you can:
- Put your used oil in a clean plastic container with a tight lid. Do not allow water to accumulate in the container. Be sure to not mix it with anything else (paint, gas, solvents, antifreeze, etc.)
- Take it to a service station or other location that collects used oil for recycling.
- Bring it to the Collection Tank on Landfill Road.
Oil filters are to be recycled and can be disposed of at the Landfill Road Convenience Center (Site 12).
