Lodging establishments consist of hotels,
motels, bed & breakfast inns, bed & breakfast homes, and other
establishments that provide lodging for pay. Inspections are performed to
ensure the proper sanitation of the facility inspected. Some of the items
checked during an inspection include room cleanliness, proper lighting, hot
water temperatures, furniture condition, pest presence (bedbugs, roaches, etc.),
proper waste disposal, and cleanliness of ice buckets.
In addition, for those establishments providing a continental breakfast, the Environmental Health
Specialist will ensure that the proper guidelines are being followed and food is not being prepared or cooked by
the facility without a food service permit.
