Wilson County Emergency Medical Services provides emergency paramedic level care and transportation to a largely rural community of about 70,000 people located approximately 45 miles east of Raleigh, North Carolina. Wilson County has two major roads, Interstate 95 the major north, south artery for the eastern United States, and US 264, an east, west corridor. Both are or will be shortly, 4 lane expressway style highway with speed limits in excess of 65 mph.
