Wilson County is governed by a seven member Board of Commissioners, elected from seven separate districts to serve four year terms.
Following the November election, the Board takes office at its first meeting in December. The Chair and Vice-Chair are elected for a one year term each December.

The Commissioners create policies, establish an annual budget and property tax rate, and regulate land use and zoning outside municipal jurisdictions.

The Board of Commissioners regular scheduled meeting is the 1st Monday night of each month at 7:00pm.
The meeting location is 2201 Miller Road, South, 1st Floor.
