New Water Services Director Named
Ford chosen to lead water services
Ronald Ford, current Water Services Technician, Wilson County Water Services, has been named Director of Water Services.
Ford has served in the county’s water services department for over 14 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new leadership role.
“I am honored to serve in this new leadership role and excited to continue to work with our quality staff,” said Ford. “I know our water system very well and I value our customers. They are why we come to work each day and why we work hard to deliver clean and affordable water.”
“Ronald has been with us since the earliest years of water services with the county,” said Denise Stinagle, county manager. “He knows our system, our staff and our customers and he has a passion and desire to build upon what we have.”
Ford has certifications from the North Carolina Water Treatment Facility Operators Board including:
D distribution, C distribution, and B Distribution Operator. He holds certifications as Cross Connection System Operator.
In addition, he holds training certifications from the North Carolina Rural Water Association (NCRWA) in Water distribution technology, Water pump technology, Back-flow prevention & cross connection control, Water tank coating and maintenance technology, Asset management, System operations training, and Water/Wastewater Safety.
Water systems require periodic training and Ford has been active in recent years participating in learning from the NC Industrial Commission, NC American Water Works Association and the UNC Environmental Finance Center for NC Small water system financial empowerment.
He has two sons Walker and Rhyder.
Current Water Services Director Dale Causey retires in July 31. Ford starts his new role August 1, 2017.
