Tax office temporarily moves
The Wilson County Tax Department is making a temporary move starting Wednesday, June 12. “We are going to replace very old carpet, tile and flooring throughout the first floor,” said Randy Faircloth, Tax Administrator. Faircloth and the county’s maintenance department have been working on plans to make sure that customer service goes uninterrupted during the two and a half week move. Citizens should note the following changes next week:
- Tax Department services will move to the 4th floor of the Nash Street Office Building (same building they are currently in).’
- Hours of operation will continue to be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- All phone numbers remain the same.
- Persons using assisted mobility devices or persons that are disabled can press a call button located on the side of the building at the sidewalk. Someone will constantly monitor the call button and come down to assist. There will not be rear access to the building.
The department looks to return to normal services on the first floor starting Monday July 1, 2019. “Our goal is to have a seamless customer service process during this temporary move,” said Faircloth. “The end result will be improved flooring and customers will notice a difference.”
