DSS Volunteers are preparing to help with free tax preparations
Wilson County DSS has partnered with the IRS for its sixth year to assist families with tax benefit information and FREE tax filing services. VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) provides FREE tax assistance to families!
“Many families have benefited from this in the past and we are pleased to provide this service again this year,” said Amber Denning, Human Services coordinator.
Our volunteers will assist with basic tax returns for family income levels under $49,000 a year.
Services will take place in the Career Plus office, 114 Pine St., NE, Wilson, NC.
Hours are:
January 21 through February 13, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
February 16 through April 10, Tuesdays and Thursdays
4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
“We encourage families to take advantage of this free service,” said Denning. “Family budgets are tight and this will save money for so many families.”
