Wilson County is located approximately 35 minutes east of the state's capital of Raleigh, North Carolina. The County of Wilson has a population of slightly over 81,000 residents and its total area covers some 373 miles.

The County Seat
The County seat is the City of Wilson, which has a population of about 50,000 residents and covers an area of 14.2 square miles. Wilson County has an automatic Real Estate Listing System with approximately 40,000 parcels. New housing starts around $150,000.

Wilson County Tax Department is also the collection agency for 9 municipalities located within the County, two Solid Waste taxes and 17 Fire Districts.

2016 COUNTY-WIDE REVALUATION

Effective June 23, 2014 the County-wide Revaluation started with the field canvassing crew.  All authorized individuals should be on a marked car, have an ID badge on them and be wearing a bright orange vest with white reflective tape and the wording “TAX OFFICE” across the back shoulders.
