On Tuesday, March 4, 2014, the Upper Coastal Plain Family Caregiver Support Program, Barton College and Alzheimer's NC, Inc. will host the 11th Annual Caregiver Education Conference, Empowered Caregiving through dementia education, resources and support. The conference will take place at Barton College.
Due to space, we will be offering a 1/2 day morning session with lunch included for family caregivers (8:00 am until 1:00 pm). We will offer an afternoon session specifically for professional caregivers (1:00 pm until 5:30 pm). Refreshments will be offered during the afternoon session.
The convenience of attending this half-day conference, maxims the education opportunities for family and professional caregivers within their limited schedules. The focus of the conference this year will be: to explore various strategies and techniques that caregivers can use to care for themselves and persons with dementia; identify resources for developing daily routines and programs that meet the needs of people with dementia and their caregivers; and describe the most recent and effective assessment, treatment and care options available for people with dementia.
The registration fee is $10 for family members/family caregivers, clergy member, students and volunteers. Professionals can earn 3 CEU's by registering at a fee of $25.
