Area IV Envirothon
The Area IV Envirothon is a competitive event to help prepare and qualify students for the State Envirothon Competition. It is open to high school and middle school students in Area IV counties which include: 
  • Durham
  • Edgecombe
  • Franklin
  • Granville
  • Halifax
  • Johnston
  • Nash
  • Vance
  • Wake
  • Warren
  • Wilson
The Area IV Envirothon is scheduled to be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Rose Hill Plantation in Nashville, NC with Nash County as host.  Teams  will be competing to advance to the State Envirothon, which will be held at Cedarock Park in Burlington, NC on April 29-30, 2016.    
Environmental Education Program
The District staff are available to provide educational resources to public and private primary and secondary schools throughout the year. The staff will visit classrooms and make presentations to students and assist teachers with environmental education. Please call our office at 252-237-5147 ext. 3 to schedule a presentation for your students or group.

Resource Conservation Workshop
The Annual Resource Conservation Workshop is held in June each year at North Carolina State University. This workshop provides rising sophomores, juniors and seniors a week-long learning experience with concentrations in conservation, forestry, wastewater, and fisheries.
